Drinking coffee is not the only reason to stay in a cafe, in fact eating cake is a benefit too. Also there is no better place to read a book or watch people. Cafés are islands of peace and therefore an essential part of our everyday life.

Von außen klein, innen skandinavisch schick und urgemütlich. Im Café „The Friday Cup- ping Room“ hat sich Inhaberin Birgit Köhler stylisch „ausgetobt“ und einen wahren Interi- eur-Traum geschaffen. Gemeinsam mit ihrem Mann Kay bietet sie vom veganen Bananenbrot bis zum Schoko-Pralinen-Kuchen feinste Leckereien an. Auch die Kaffeespezialitäten sind ein Genuss, allen voran der „The Friday Houseblend“.

Though it looks small from the outside, the inside is cosy with its Scandinavian charm. The café’s owner, Birgit Koehler made her ideas of a stylish space a reality and created a dreamlike interior. Together with her husband, Kay, they offer the most delicious dainties such as vegan bana- na-bread and chocolate-praline cake. Their coffee specialties are also a real pleasure, above all their “Friday House blend”.

Teestube im alten Fischerhaus – Hanau

Etwas versteckt zwischen Wohnhäusern und Bäumen liegt die Teestube im alten Fischer-haus. Ein blaues Häuschen mit prächtigem Garten, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Allein über 16 ostfriesische und insgesamt mehr als 40 Tee- sorten gibt es hier, aber auch Kaffeeliebhaber kommen auf ihre Kosten. Die Inhaberin backt täglich köstlichen Kuchen. Auch glutenfreie und vegane Leckerbissen sind zu haben.

Sort of hidden between the houses and the trees, the tea parlour is located in the old fisherman’s house; a small blue house with a magnificent gar- den which calls you in to linger. The tea parlour offers more than 16 East Frisian tea types and all in all more than 40 different types of tea to tea lovers, but does not forget coffee lovers and their interests. The owner herself bakes some delightful cakes, delicious gluten free and vegan treats on a dauly basis.

Skandinavisch trifft auf Flohmarkt-Chic. Das Klein Paulsen im Wohngebiet Philosophen- wald ist viel mehr als ein Nachbarschaft- streff. In der Auslage gibt es zahlreiche süße, herzhafte und vegane Speisen. Während man genüsslich am Kaffee nippt, küssen die Sonnenstrahlen durch das große Fenster das Gesicht.

Die Auswahl der Kuchen im „Wessinger – Restaurant, Konditorei und Hotel“ in Neu- Isenburg ist so groß, dass man schon mal ein paar Minuten mit plattgedrückter Nase an der Vitrine über die hübschen Torten und Teilchen staunt, bis man sich endlich entscheiden kann. Empfehlenswert ist hier die Barcelona-Torte und der Birnenkuchen mit Schokolade.

The variety of their pastries in Wessinger restau- rant, confectionery and hotel in Neu-Isenburg takes you by surprise at the first glance and ma- kes your mouth water, as you try to finally make up your mind and pick your tasty morsel from their delicious cakes and tarts. Though all are tasty and therefore worth a try, the Barcelona tart and the pear cake with chocolate are highly recommended.

Sugar Mama – Frankfurt

Seit über vier Jahren versorgt uns das Café mit entspannter Atmosphäre, Kuchen und Quiche, Kaffee, Kunst und Musik. Auf weichen Sesseln oder hübschen alten Holzstühlen kann man es sich drinnen oder auf der Terras- se gemütlich machen. Viel Verkehr zieht hier am Fischerplätzchen vorbei – aber das sorgt eher für das urbane Lebensgefühl, als dass es beim Entspannen stört. Ein wunderbarer Treffpunkt für ein gutes Gespräch mit Freun- den, für den zentralen Start in den Abend oder für einen Kaffee im Vorbeispazieren in Richtung Main.

The café has been offering us a relaxing atmo- sphere, cake and quiche, coffee, art and music for four years now. You can make yourself comforta- ble sitting in soft armchairs or on beautiful old chairs, inside or outside on the nice terrace. Even though there is quite a bit of traffic in this area, it doesn’t feel noisy. A perfect meeting point for a good conversation with friends, a central star- ting point for the evening or your place to grab a coffee on the go while heading to the river Main.

N&J Food – Idstein

„N&J Food“ ist bekannt für die Verwendung von Zutaten aus der Re- gion. Mitten in der Idsteiner Altstadt wird vom Kuchen über den Kaffee bis zum Hauptgericht alles selbst zubereitet. Ob Matcha-Kokos-Latte, Kürbis Kurkuma-Kuchen oder Lachs-Wrap – willkommen im Him- mel der Leckereien. Mitbringsel in Form von hausgemachten Chutneys und Marmeladen aus natürlichen Zutaten gibt’s ebenso zum Kauf.

OFOF Cafebar – Offenbach

Kreativer Austausch und Design treffen hier auf guten Kaffee und leckeren Kuchen, gegenüber der Heyne Fabrik in Offenbachs Nordend. In cleanem, aber gemütlichem Ambiente aus Beton, Designmöbeln und vielen Pflanzen der „OFOF Cafebar“ kann man ent- spannt in außergewöhnlichen Zeitschriften blättern oder an den immer wieder stattfindenden Kunstausstellungen, Theateraufführungen, Workshops und Events teilnehmen.
